Millbrook Softball

Ms. Amanda Madden is the varsity coach of the Millbrook softball team.  She’s worked with the Millbrook softball teams for six years, but has only taught Physical Education at Millbrook for three. Having a successful season prior to this year, Coach Madden is optimistic about the season to come.  With six returning seniors and promising underclassmen, the outlook for the season is good.

Madden took the varsity softball team under her wing in the 2013 season. That year was primarily a rebuilding one after the graduation of several key players the previous year. With Madden’s coaching style and personality, the team grew as a whole. Going all of the way back to the fundamentals, they worked from the ground up.

“With coaching it’s not just about the sport, it’s about getting to know your players,” Madden stated. She has a deep love of the game and it reflects in her coaching, inspiring her players to work harder and never give up. She also uses her goofy personality to make the game as fun as possible while using her determination to develop good attitudes and a strongly bonded team.

According to Madden, “the kind of players who succeed in the sport of softball are the players that succeed in any sport–the hard workers. Putting your team above yourself and giving everything 110% is the formula to succeeding.”
