The Lady Pioneer cheer team claimed another title, winning the Conference 21 North cheerleading competition. Millbrook placed first with 209 points, James Wood took second with 200.5 points, and Sherando slid in with 199 points to attain third place, which is enough to send all three Frederick County schools on to Regionals.
All teams had flaws, putting them on even judging grounds, but Millbrook’s high-difficulty routine set them apart from the rest of the competitors and earned them the number one spot.
The girls’ season is going better than last year, and they are ready to continue the uphill battle. With a Conference win in the 2014 season and another in 2015, the team is ready to steal the Regional title in 2015. Once that win is under their belts, States will be the last competition they need to take some rings back to Winchester.
Regionals will be held at Amherst High School on October 31st. Come out to support your Lady Pioneer cheer team!
