The 5K Color Me Blue Run is a fundraiser that benefits the Millbrook Pioneer Athletic Association (MPAA). All runners begin the race dressed in white and the goal is to be covered in blue by the end of the run. Volunteers stand on the sidelines at different “color stations” and throw cornstarch dyed blue. Many awards are given throughout the race. The first 75 runners to register received Pioneer Cinch Bags. There are “Bluest Female” and “Bluest Male” awards along with the “MHS Class Challenge” award. Of course, the seniors won, and were awarded with free chick-fil-a sandwiches. Runners of all ages were warmly welcomed with Pioneer Spirit. First place for males: Paul Ebersole, age 14, from Winchester, VA, clocked out with a time of 19:32.3. First place for females: Rebecca Martz, age 21, from Berkeley Springs, WV, clocked out with a time of 23:17.3.
