FBLA went on a trip to Daytona Beach for the National Fall Leadership Conference. On Friday, they attended the opening session and there was a guest speaker, Felecia Hatcher. “She started a popsicle business. It was really neat to hear her talk,” said Mrs. Emily Carper. They attended several workshops such as Using Social Media for Success and You CAN Be a Millionaire. Then at 7:30 they went to the Virginia FBLA State meeting and they did leadership activities.
On Saturday, they attended workshops such as Effective Presentation Skills, Create the Life of Your Dreams, How to Dress for Success, and Careers in Social Media Marketing. At the closing session, guest speaker, Fred Grooms talked about pursuing dreams. They attended the Blue Jeans for Babies Dance. All members donated five dollars and they were able to wear jeans and dance with all the other FBLA members.
The FBLA members left Daytona at 12:30 a.m. and got home at around 4 p.m. on Saturday.
