Lauren Reed is a Millbrook senior who signed with Shepherd University’s Basketball team today. Basketball has been a key part of her life for as long as she can remember. Playing for a college team has always been a dream of hers, and now that is becoming a reality. “I chose Shepherd because of the relationship I had with the coach, it’s all about trust,” she said.
Fellow senior Trenton Burgreen also signed to Shepherd University to continue his baseball career. Burgreen has been a member of the Pioneer baseball team since his freshman year at Millbrook, and has been a key contributor to the team. Although his current position at Millbrook is second base, he will be transitioning to shortstop at Shepherd, and he is more than excited to play. “I chose Shepherd because I will be able to play right away, and I love the campus because of the layout and short distance from home,” he explained. These are some of the few reasons why Burgreen chose Shepherd over other schools, such as James Madison and Shippensburg, and he also sees himself being extremely successful there. “Their baseball program wins a lot, and they win a lot of conference championships, so I wanted to join a winning program,” he said. While attending Shepherd, Burgreen plans to major in business and is looking forward to the future ahead of him.
