Jennifer Aniston is the daughter of John Aniston and Nancy Dow. Her father comes from a Greek family and her mother comes from a English, Scottish, Italian, Irish family. Aniston was exposed to acting at a very young age. Her father, John Aniston, played in a daytime soap Days of Our Lives as “Victor Kiriakis” and at the age of eleven she followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the Rudolf Steiner School’s Drama Club. She also had professional training at the New York’s School of Performing Arts.
Aniston appeared in many Off-Broadway productions after graduating. In 1989 she debuted as a television star in Molloy as a recurring role. Jennifer Aniston also appeared in such productions as Ferris Bueller in 1990 and The Edge in 1992. But the role Aniston is most known for is her character Rachel Green in the hit TV series Friends. What many people would not expect is that she did not plan to get the role of Rachel Green, but instead intended to get the role of Monica.
Another thing Jennifer Aniston is known for is the “couple goals” marriage with Brad Pitt, whom she later divorced in early October of 2005. While she was married to Brad Pitt, she changed her name to Jennifer Pitt, but she used her maiden name professionally and after the divorce she changed her name back again. When the split happened, people chose sides, being either a Pitt or an Aniston supporter. What had helped her get over the split was doing yoga. Ms. Aniston is estranged from her mother as a result of her mother making statements to the tabloids that were very unflattering about Jennifer Aniston. This caused her mother not to be invited to her wedding.
Something that is very interesting about Ms. Aniston is even though she is half Greek, she is not very fond of Greek food. She also is not fond of any spicy foods like Chinese or Indian. But she absolutely loves Mexican food and used to eat it multiple times a week.
