Kiwanis Congratulates Key Club

On Thursday, May 18, Millbrook’s Key Club held their annual banquet to end their productive year of volunteering. As always, the club said goodbye to the old officers and inducted new ones. The President of the Kiwanis Club of Winchester, Greg Hulver, inducted all of the new officers, wishing them well in their positions. Another board member, and chair of the public relations committee,  T.J. O’Connor congratulated both the officers and the members on their improvement from last year. The amount of service opportunities increased from ten to fifty projects this year, and next year can only be better. Mr. O’Connor made a deal with the new officers that if they improved service and involvement by fifty percent or more, then he would once again provide dinner for the club’s banquet.

A huge factor in the growth of Key Club is due to Mr. Pendleton’s amazing passion and commitment as a faculty representative. It was his first year, and he hopes to achieve even more next year. Anybody is invited to join Key Club if they have a passion for helping their community; all you have to do is pay a $20 due at the beginning of the year and you’re eligible to participate in all of the activities with the club. You will also receive a Key Club shirt later in the year, and have the opportunity to attend DCON, the district convention. Congratulations to the new officers and all of the members of Key Club on another great year, and thank you to the board members at the Kiwanis Club of Winchester for supporting Millbrook so much throughout our growth.
