Mr. Hackett is a new math teacher, he teaches Geometry and Alegbra II. He went to West Virginia University for two years, then transferred to Shepherd for four years. He finally got his master’s degree at Capella University. He said that he likes teaching because “of the interactions I have with the students. Being able to have conversations with them, outside of math, which makes things entertaining.”

He decided to become a math teacher when he was a sophomore in high school. He said, “My teacher told me that I would be a good teacher and I think she told me that because I gave her such a hard time. She just wanted me to go through the same thing.” His favorite math is Algebra II and his favorite unit in that class is Quadratics and Polynomials. Out of school he hunts deer, goes fishing, and works on his house. He also played sports, such as baseball and football during high school.
