The Pioneer cheerleaders have many competitions soon, and their outlook for the season remains positive. With an advancement to states last season, the Millbrook cheerleaders accomplished the most Millbrook has seen from the team in previous years. With a conference win and 5th place state finish, the girls are hungry for more.
At Fort Defiance High School on September 12th, the girls started their season with third place. They are happy with their routine and finish, but still want to achieve redemption. The next competition will take place at Harrisonburg High School this Saturday, September 26th.
Savannah Payne said, “We will do great this weekend because we have been preparing.” Coach Jones can back that up. She said, “We have made the routine tougher for the girls because we believe in them and their potential.” Angela Reimer shares that confidence as well. “We’ve got solid stunts so I think we’ll do well.”
Senior, Hailey Steffen said one thing she hopes she can count on is support from the school. Steffen said, “I love when I can look into the crowd to see some familiar faces and hear some familiar voices when we kill our routine.” The Pioneer cheerleaders have a bright future season ahead of them this year.
