Power Ranger Review

On March 27, 2017, Lionsgate released the remake of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show as a movie. This movie’s plot revolves around 5 teenagers that find power coins that belonged to the former alien power rangers, and they must come together to beat the antagonist Rita Repulsa. Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery, Becky G, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, and Naomi Scott.

This is the third Power Rangers film after the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, The Movie, and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. This recent installment of Power Rangers includes elements from the original TV show. Some of these elements are the theme song from the TV show, the Zords, Megazord, and cameos by some of the original Power Rangers.

This remake was unnecessary, but it was better than expected. The characters can be compared to the characters in The Breakfast Club because both movies have a jock, an outcast, a basket case, a nerd and the popular girl. Power Rangers portray this in a good fashion. This movie is an excellent remake of the series, and it’s even better if you were a fan of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
