On Monday, December 18, Millbrook’s jazz choir, Route 7, performed Christmas carols for fellow students in the commons outside the auditorium.
Route 7, who also recently performed at the Pioneer Spirit Awards, sang Christmas Carols for a large gathering of students in the commons, including a mashup of Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. According to senior Nerys Apple, the songs were selected by the choir director Mr. Kelly and the performance has been a tradition of the choir for several years.
Apple, who has also starred in the Drama Club’s productions of Shrek: the Musical and Little Shop of Horrors, has been in the jazz choir ever since her sophomore year and has enjoyed her time in it. This year, she thought that the hardest part of performing was mixing the men and women’s singing parts. She said that what helped her was getting to do rehearsals for just the women’s parts and then adding in the men’s vocals at a later date.
