Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy Dance Recital

Feature worthy

Dancers from the senior performing ensemble dance to Gravity by Sara Bareilles.

On Friday, May 20th, dancers from the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy performed beautifully in their annual dance recital. The show included pieces from all types of dance, including lyrical, musical theater, tap, modern and jazz. Their ballet performance was on Saturday.

Each dance class goes through the same process each year. They begin with basics of the class, whether it be jazz, modern, or lyrical, and begin to learn choreography and mini dances. Around February and March, the instructors begin to teach their recital piece, which they continue to work on until the recital in May. Each class meets once a week, and each type of dance has various classes at different levels.

Fellow dancers hold up an upcoming Millbrook freshman, Brie Gabany.

The performance went without a hitch, and with a sold out show, everyone loved the dances. Although many loved the show, there were lots of tears as the seniors were announced and given flowers at the end of the performance. While many beloved seniors are graduating, the program will never be the same, but will continue to blossom.
