To be or not to be a snow day? That is the question. The snow in Winchester over the past few months has been nonexistent. The temperature has been around spring level and all the flowers are showing up. Will we ever have a chance to make snowman this winter? The answer is probably not. Although the 2016 Farmer’s Almanac is calling for this region to be unseasonably cold and snowy, the weather is just not cooperating.
Anyone who has their heart set on making a snow angel or sledding down a hill onto a blanket white, will most likely be crushed. Sorry. Or if snow days are the only thing on everyone’s mind that’s not likely to happen either. Lounging around all day is an unrealistic fantasy.
To sum up, this winter is a winter of broken spirits longing for snow. So keep the snow boots in the farthest depths of closets, put the mittens and scarves away, and get ready for nonstop school.
