FCCLA is holding Millbrook’s annual Turkey For a Day Contest in the commons. All proceeds donated will go to United Way. Ms. Powers explained, “[United Way is] an organization that helps multiple entities in each county.” These entities include Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other nonprofit organizations.

However, tThe incentive for donating is for students, however, is to get to see their favorite teacher dressed as a turkey. The teachers in the running include Mr. Griffis, Mr. Hammer, Mrs. Lacey, Mr. Lewis, Mr. Manspile, Ms. Perrault, Mr. Rogus, Mr. Uhler, and Mr. Wooley. Ms. Powers believed that Mr. Rogus was in the lead, but recently Mrs. Lacey appeared to have pulled ahead into the lead.

Alongside the contest is another way of raising money for United Way. In the commons, there are buckets for each graduating class in school in which students may put their money. Whichever class has the most money will receive half of the money for their own use, and the class with the second most money will get one-quarter of the money they donated.

Go out to the commons and donate to United Way; coins, bills, and checks are all accepted.
