The Life of Arnold Palmer

Legendary golfer Arnold Palmer died on September 25, 2016 at the age of 87. Palmer contributed so much to the sport of golf and all sports in general. He jumpstarted sports marketing by making a deal with Mark McCormack, the founder of International Management Group (IMG).

Palmer was a seven time major winner, four of those wins from the Masters Tournament. Many people know Arnold Palmer more for his signature drink; a mix of half iced and half lemonade. Palmer drank this concoction made by his wife throughout his golfing career, and one day when he ordered an iced tea in a restaurant specifically to his liking, another customer overheard and stated that they wanted “an Arnold Palmer”. From here on the renowned drink began production, and today it is owned by AriZona Beverage Company.

Arnold Palmer will live on in our memories as an amazing entrepreneur and golfer who dedicated his life to the game.
