Trump Trumped America

Meet the new 45th president of the United States of America.

So Trump won the election and Canada has never looked so lovely as it does right now. Despite all the polls thrown out in the weeks prior to the election that claimed Hillary Clinton would take the presidency, Donald Trump won over the country in a very tight race. Somehow, Mr. Trump tricked the American people into voting for him by appealing to a much larger audience than Hillary Clinton. Now let me tell you about my precious thoughts towards the election.

At four o’clock this morning, I woke up to check my phone to see who won the election. A few hours early I saw that Trump had a distinctive lead over Mrs. Clinton. However, the west coast hadn’t been accounted for which gave me little hope. Yet, at four in the morning, I saw the headline “President Trump” plastered on CNN’s website and knew it was all over.

I really wished Hillary would win. I’m not or was a huge Hillary Clinton fan, but I knew she would at least know how to run the country due to her political experience. Mr. Trump is a wild card and has no boundaries whatsoever and who knows what he will do as commander in chief. That’s why the election results brought me down.

Trump appealed more to the working class voters than Hillary did. Voters must have hated Hillary more because of her countless scandals and conspiracies. What confuses me the most was all the polls that claimed Hillary would win. I thought she had this in the bag. The media seemed to say that it would be a definite that Hillary would win but the results stated different. That what angers me the most.

But, in the end, Trump is going to become the president in a few months and there is nothing we can do. The people of the United States of America have spoken and they want this man to lead us. I just hope he doesn’t screw it up and start a war because of his big mouth. He needs to step up to the plate and take his role seriously. It would be smart for him to delete his Twitter account and not go on midnight rants. Bottom line is he has to start acting like an adult.
