With a good start to the season, the Lady Pioneers chose to adopt the most difficult preseason schedule. Teams they play will include players who have been state champions and runner ups, as well as a number one recruit for the University of Connecticut in the class of 2017. As Assistant Coach Ms. Sanders said, “This week will be a good test for the girls as these are some of the top teams in the state.”

Senior captain Lauren Reed helped the team establish a goal for the season. “We are in high hopes of winning Conference and Regionals to advance to States. With that in our heads, we know what we must do on and off the court.”

With the starters being primarily sophomores, Amari Anthony and Hailee McDonald are excited for the season to keep an uphill climb throughout the season and beyond. Anthony stated, “The season will go well simply because all of us have been playing together for a while.” While McDonald added, “We’re just a really talented group with the same drive to do well.”
The 2-0 team will take on Spotswood, Broadway, and Monacan this week! Help support your Lady Pioneers!
